What steps do you need to take in order to accomplish this goal?
Day 1-2 :
Day 3, 4, 5, & 6 :
You will either use the Google Chromebooks in the classroom or go down to the media center to use the PCs to do research (may be a combination of the two). Keep a running Works Cited (annotated, MLA format), visual aid for your presentation, itinerary, and presentation notes on some sort of Google, Evernote, or shared drive so both you and your partner can have access to the most up-to-date material at all times. Also, share this with Madame at [email protected] (Google Docs) or [email protected] (Evernote).
3 & 4: establish some way of sharing information. Find the “office de tourisme” (start Works Cited page) and determine what activities you want to do, then price out your options. Use the teacher-made PowerPoints below to help you get organized. Share the notes, visual, Works Cited, Budget with Madame.
5: continue research and start to organize itinerary and budget (including transportation to and from Paris, hotel reservations, dining, etc.). Continue adding to Works Cited page.
6: finalize your Works Cited page and itinerary. Print itinerary. Create visual for your presentation and organize presentation order, speaking points, etc.
Day 6 & 7 :
All itineraries and visuals are due at the start of class. Students either email the PPT, share the Google PPT or Prezi with the teacher, etc. Then teacher decides which group goes first. During the presentations, the “audience” will fill in a reflection/assessment of the presentation using the same criterion with the teacher will grade you.
Day 8 :
You will fill in a reflection worksheet, which asks questions about your partner and that person’s work ethic, how you worked together (what went well/didn’t), and about your own work ethic and what you would’ve changed.
- Basic Introduction to all regions: read about different regions in France and answer basic questions (French Two Years workbook p. 499-509).
- Introduce the project by using the Weebly Home Page. You can read through it in pairs or individually, or your teacher can read it out loud to the class. Then explore the Weebly: learn how to move from the intro page to the task and process pages. Please ask your teacher questions if you have any.
- You will either pick your partners or the teacher will assign them.
- You will choose the Region you will be “visiting”. Here is a link to a Google Doc for signing up.
- Your teacher will hand out the budgets. Budgets are given in EUROS on slips of paper, no two groups will have the same amount. (budget between 500-3.000 euros)
